The Today Show...With Me and Donny Osmond
I just got back from the Today Show and finally saw my interview. I don’t know about you, but I hate seeing myself and hearing my voice on tape. My kids seemed to like it though, so I guess that’s all that matters.
I had such a fun day today. It started early with a 6:45am pickup to take me to 30 Rockefeller Center. When I got there, they immediately took me into hair and makeup (definitely a good thing at that time of the morning). After that, I waited around for awhile in the green room talking to the other guests. All I could think was I really want a strong cup of coffee, but knowing myself, I figured I would spill the entire cup on my cream colored pants. I opted for the tired yet clean look instead.
As the producers were walking me to the outdoor set, I started to get a little nervous, but as soon as Ann Curry sat down next to me, I felt completely at ease. She was so nice and chatty. The producer of the segment told me I’d be on for 2 ½ minutes, which I promise feels like 20 seconds on air. The whole thing flew by so fast, it was almost surreal.
So what about Donny Osmond?
After my 2 ½ minutes were over, I was whisked away to do a satellite tour of NBC affiliate stations. I was in Wisconsin, Austin, San Jose, Chattanooga, Philly, Portland, Hartford and Madison. Did anyone happen to catch any of these? Tomorrow, it’s back to the studio to do some more affiliate station interviews. I’ll be on in Salt Lake City, Kansas City, San Diego, Detroit and El Paso. Please let me know if any of you happen to see these. I’d love to hear some feedback.
Oh, I almost forgot the most exciting part of my day. I met Donny Osmond. Ok, I know it sounds corny, but I used to love him when I was a kid, and now, my three kids listen to his Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat DVD all the time. In fact, when I came home tonight, my kids were about to give me the whole guilt trip on not seeing them all day, but when I told them I met Donny Osmond, all was forgiven.

I love Donny Osmond too. He's still so cute -- which leads me to my problem. I met my boyfriend playing touch football in the park -- with the emphasis on touch. Unfortunately, over the last two years, he's become the ultimate spectator. While I definitely like to sit and watch, he's... uh, let himself go and not interested in getting up and playing anymore. I don't exactly need Shaun Alexander (come to think of it, yes I do), but nowadays he's looking more like Refrigerator Perry.
I like to think of myself as a franchise player and I'm thinking if he doesn't work a little harder, he's going to be playing in the European League.
What do I do?
Well, you definitely have a dilema on your hands. You need to let your boyfriend know that if he wants to stay on your team, he's got to shape up (literally). Not only is it bad for romance but it's unhealthy for him to be such a couch potato. It doesn't sound like you're asking for too much.
