As promised, here’s a quick review of the most important football stories everyone will be talking about at the water cooler this morning:

Brotherly Love: Which Manning brother, Eli or Peyton, played better during their big matchup on Sunday Night Football last night? The truth is that both played well, although Eli (the younger brother who is quarterback for the Giants) made too many mistakes. It was an exciting game up until the last minute when Eli had a chance to bring his team down field for a score. The Giants didn't manage the time on the clock well and were unable to make a final score, so the Colts won the game. After the game, Peyton and Eli hugged each other and Peyton said he loved his brother and enjoyed watching him play in person.
Rookie Sensation: In other game news, Reggie Bush, the much-hyped rookie for the New Orleans Saints, had a terrific first outing yesterday. After hurricane Katrina, the Saints needed an uplifting story for their city and they got it yesterday with their first win of the season. Bush, a former Heisman Trophy-winner (an award given to the best college football player), gave New Orleans something to cheer about.
So interesting to watch the game and watch the cutaways to their parents watching - seemed so hard for them to be excited! I'm sure they were so stressed. Overall a great game....
Love the support between the brothers! Thanks for educating us on the Manning Bowl!!!
What a great family to raise not only two sons who end up playing professional football but that are so close knit and care about each other.
I'm so glad I came across your blog today. It's hard to find other women that enjoy discussing football.
I watched most of the game... but to me the highlight was all of the commercials that the Manning Boys have done together. The one for SportsCenter when they are on the tour of ESPN... TOO FUNNY!!
Glad RB had a good game.. But as a Falcon fan, hope he doesn't on 9/25!
thanks for bringing the manning brothers to my attention--it added that human interest to the game and i found myself all involved in the outcome. from my perspective, they both won and what a great family.
This is great to see NFL discussed on iVillage! Football knowledge is not only fun, but makes us look like even more amazing women to the opposite gender.
Go Bills!! (BTW, how cute is J.P. Losman?!!)
Go Saints ! We love you ! I'll be
cheering for you monday ! Good Luck !
Even though I thought the game had to much hype, it was fun to watch the things about when there were little.
