With Michael Vick, it's just a shameful thing. You'd think he'd get enough aggression out on the field. I admit it, I have been a fan of his talents on the field, but I can't separate it anymore.

The Falcons' coaching staff must have known Vick was at least as likely to get arrested as injured, so even though newly signed Joey Harrington is a NON rushing QB who throws just as many interceptions as Vick, with Harrington's good guy status and talent, Atlanta will have a chance again.

Let's hear it for Michael Vick. Finally, his bad decisions on the field now mirror his moronic decisions off it. He's like one of his pit bulls, all muscle, teeth and aggression without brain cells to do anything but fight. The big difference -- he's not being chained to a car axle and executed if he underperforms.
Which brings me to my main point -- since he's pretty much performed WAY below expectations his entire career, if he's convicted, authorities do the same thing to him as he's done to his dogs.

People lets not become so involved with this Mike Vick issue. We all have a difference in opinion. There is so many different sides to this story, and only GOD knows the truth and only GOD can judge. Eventhough I have a dislike for pitts, the way the media described the brutal acts against these animals is disturbing. We are only going by what the MEDIA has put out and of course they make it sound worse than what it really is! Lets not forget that there are so many things going on in the world, and i'm sorry but Michael Vick and dog fighting is not on a list of top priorities. Let the wheel of justice run it's course and stop with the acqusations. we have had it!!! all these so called celebs or sports role models....rehab people.....all of them. everybody just white washes it and they get off and life goes on. but LOOK at our world. it's time they're all accountable for their actions... for breaking the LAWS.

If there is anything good about the Michael Vick story, it is that there is an emerging increased awareness about animal cruelty and animal fighting. However...

I think it is a sad commentary that we, as a culture, are using the Vick story to compare "What's worse?" "What's worse", we ask, "carelessly fathering illegitimate children, or dogfighting?". "Dogfighting or gambling?" "Dogfighting or rape?" "Dogfighting or racism?" "Dogfighting or hateful nationalism?" "Dogfighting or (fill in the blank)....?" The comparisons to dogfighting have been endless.

Dogfighting is one more piece of evidence our country is in need of a spiritual transformation (please note I said spiritual and not necessarily religious). Animals are sentient beings - they feel pain, and they suffer, just like we do. They are not more important, or less important than human beings, but like human beings, they are important, too.

Every major faith teaches its followers to be responsible stewards of animals and the Earth. Please help us get the word out that caring for animals, just like caring for people, is an important part of just being a decent person and citizen. If we make this a priority, there will be no more dogfighting horror stories, and no more pointless comparisons of evils. Let us all rise, together, to be better people than we are today, shall we?
