Watercooler Chat: The Pats are unbeatable!

Dallas Cowboys v. New England Patriots. A possible Super Bowl Preview. Two undefeated teams battling for supremacy. Terrell Owens v. Randy Moss -- a showdown of the elite, motor-mouth receivers. Everybody talked about it. The nation was in a football uproar. 5-0 v. 5-0!!!!!! Sports Talk Show hosts dissected every aspect of the game, providing reasons why Dallas/New England would DEFINITELY win. And guess what... all week, I didn't really care about it. Why? Because I knew that the Pats were going to maul them. Yes, I know they were losing at the half, but I wasn't worried one iota. As stated in many of my past posts, the Pats are UNBEATABLE. Unbeatable means they can't lose. I won't bend on this. The Cowboys may have been undefeated, but their wins came against some suspect teams. They struggled with Buffalo, BUFFALO, last Monday night. And you're telling me the Dallas/New England game was projected to be... close. A 'Clash Of The Titans'. Please...And, can we just talk about Tom Brady for a second. Yes, his ex, Bridgett Moynahan had all the press this week with her front page spread in US or OK or one of our guilty pleasure mags. Well, Brady stole back the spotlight by having one of the greatest games anyone has ever seen. 5 Touchdowns, 388 yards for a 48-27 win.

In other news:

Minnesota Vikings rookie Adrian Peterson is an absolute force of nature, a barbarian, running for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns. Did you see the highlights??!! It was like Zeus was running down the field. However, the question still remains -- did the Vikings make a mistake passing on QB Brady Quinn in this year's draft? I don't know... I just don't know. (Minnesota 34, Chicago 31)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans played the most boring nationally televised game in TV history. Congratulations, guys -- this is no small accomplishment. I swear, if I had to hear "And that's LenDale White for a pickup of 2" just one more time, I was going to call CBS headquarters and be like, "Guys, you might as well run some re-runs of MAJOR DAD. You'll get better ratings". (Tampa Bay 13, Tennessee 10)

The Arizona Cardinals proved that they are 'not for real'. I was hoping they would just go ahead and get this over with. Thanks, guys. They lost to a team led by a quarterback, Vinny Testaverde, who voted in the Roosevelt election. Ok, that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but he is 44 years old. (Carolina 25, Arizona 10)

Jacksonville won AGAIN!! These guys are good. But I still bet you can't name 4 players on their team. Seriously, challenge yourself. Try responding to this post with that answer. And you can't cheat!!

Baseball News
The Colorado Rockies, who barely made the playoffs, have now taken a 3-0 lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS. In the ALCS, the Red Sox and Cleveland Indians are tied at one game a piece. But, of course, Steinbrenner trumps them all with the news that he's handing over the reins of the Yankees to his sons Hank and Hal. Thankfully, the 77 year old Steinbrenner will stay on as Chairman..ok, you may love him or hate him, but he IS a personality and that's part of why we love sports so much...the personalities! Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 for what everyone thought was an outrageous 8.7 million, but now they're worth at least 1.2 billion, so not too shabby! The Yankee organization is meeting on Tuesday and will have some news on whether or not they will oust GM Torre....so stay tuned.

Watercooler Discussion: Is Tom Brady the best quarterback in the League or is he helped by a great team that makes him look good?
