WATERCOOLER CHAT: OLYMPIC FEVER, GIULIANI AND FEMALE FAN ON FOX BUSINESS NEWS
Olympic Fever!!!!!
Finally!
The Favre saga is over and now (for two weeks) our nation can turn our
eyes towards Team USA and the highly anticipated feats of Michael
Phelps, Nastia Liukin, Team USA Basketball and the rest of the
country's best athletes. Check this out, AT&T is showing their
support by teaming up with some
of music’s hottest artists to create an exclusive soundtrack for Team
USA. Not only are these songs inspirational for any athlete, the
proceeds from the soundtrack will benefit Team USA.
Recording artists, 3 Doors Down, Army of Me, Colbie Caillat, Clique Girlz, Sheryl Crow, Flipsyde, Lady Antebellum, Mere, Nelly, and Kate Voegele, show their support for the U.S. Olympic Team athletes as they pursue their dreams of competing in the Olympic Games.
The music will be available for download only during the Olympic Games (August 8th – 24th), through AT&T wireless phones and online at www.att.net/TEAMUSA.
Check out clips of the music videos for the soundtrack on YouTube featuring top Team USA athletes, and photos of Team USA Soundtrack artists and athletes on Flickr.
Be sure to check out the Opening Ceremonies at 8:00 pm (EST) Friday, Aug. 8th. One of the highlights of the weekend is Michael Phelps first competition on Saturday Aug. 9th. Phelps is one of the greatest swimmers we've ever seen. He is entered in 8 events and 17 races in the next two weeks. Speedo has offered him $1 Million if he matches Mark Spitz's record of 7 gold medals in one game (the same deal he was offered in Athens four years ago). In Athens, an insurance company backed Speedo's payout, but this time around, Speedo is on its own. No insurance company would back the deal, so Speedo is in for the whole amount. Wonder whom they'll be rooting for? For the whole schedule, check out NBC Olympics.
Favre
Yes,
I realize it's time to move on, but this story still has some legs.
Brett Favre flew to Cleveland Thursday night to meet his new teammates
on the NY Jets. While there, he even took a few snaps (and looked
pretty good) in the Jets pre-season game against the Browns. Jets won
24-20 (but remember it's only pre-season). I was on Fox Business News
Thursday night to talk about the Favre trade. Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani was
in the studio as well and we chatted about whether this trade was good
for the Jets. We all agreed this was a no-brainer for the Jets. And, to
prove the point, the Jets sold 3200 Jets #4 Favre Jerseys online in one
day (more in one day than the total number they sold since January).
